Managed Hosting


It is important to have your own server if you are planning a particularly large website or application or if you have specific demands concerning the configuration. Managed hosting is provided by NXS Internet in Amsterdam. They administer all the hardware and software while you can take care of the websites or the applications that have to be compatible with the server.

Nxs Internet is specialized in installations, security updates, software updates, 24/7 proactive monitoring including solving hardware or software problems and making server backups. In case of a disaster there is a 24/7 incident number.

Virtual servers

Virtualization is a new technique which makes it possible to disconnect the physical hardware from the operating system. This way multiple virtual servers can be run in one server and allocated use of processors, disk space and memory providing maximum availabiliy and flexibility. Vmware ESX technology has the following advantages:

  • You don't have to invest in your own hardware
  • Full control over Virtual Machine (VM), remote console included
  • Processors, memory and disk space extendable without downtime
  • Max. availability thanks to ESX cluster composition: not one Single Point of Failure
  • Complete server online within a few working days
  • You can migrate an old fashion server to a VM

 

Dedicated managed servers

When you are leasing a dedicated server you will not have to maintain the hardware of your server. You are leasing a physical server which will be placed in one of our own state-of-the-art datacenters. Nxs Internet has many years of experience with installation and maintains several server configurations. Due to the fact that we can maintain the installation of your dedicated server and we always keep it up to date, which means you can be completely focused on your own specialised field.

Hardware

The lease of a solid server is included. Nxs Internet has many years of experience in buying, installing and administering different server configurations. We therefore use ‘Dell’ systems. Replaceable parts are guaranteed as part of the dedicated server contract.

Maintenance

NXS install your dedicated server and do the periodical maintenance. When a disk, a memory, a main board or any other part of your computer malfunctions, you can be sure that we repair the system in its original status. Additional costs for hardware parts and working hours are included in the price. Go to our basic configurations for more information.

Backup network

A backup account of 20 GB is included to an external location (10 km from the primary data centre). That 20 GB provides, depending on the data set, space for a full backup (every users data) that is stored for 7 days. In other words, backups are available up to 7 days. That period of 7 days or the circulation plan might be altered after deliberation. Nxs Internet takes care of the backups. The backup account can be expanded to your own wishes (even in the future). Requests to replace files are based on subsequent calculation.

Firewall

The dedicated server is delivered with a software like firewall. You can also lease a physical firewall for your system. We will then take care of the installation, the lease and the administration. Furthermore we guarantee to have a spare firewall in stock if there should be some unexpected defect in the live system. You can also order a redundant line-up with two firewalls or more.

Contracts

The standard contract duration is 36 months. After this period there is a term of notice of 1 month. Shorter contracts are possible.
